1905. May 4th. Derby Telegraph.- Archie Clay and John Clay with 8 others summoned for playing football in Blind Lane. Wirksworth. Constable said he had previously cautioned the offenders and there had been many complaints. The Judge let them off on condition that they did not offend again.

1919. Feb 21st. Thomas Clay of Wirksworth died 24th Jan.1919 probate granted to Herbert Clay grocer and Elizabeth Clay spinster. (Ref.- London Probate Office).
